At the Future Games Show, publisher NACON and its studio Rogue Factor had the pleasure to unveil an intriguing new trailer highlighting the story of the action-adventure game Hell is Us and the motivations of its main character, Remi. Hell is Us will be released on 4 September 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), and a demo version is currently available on all these platforms until 28 August.

Hell is Us offers a captivating story, where supernatural phenomena, human violence, and ancient, well-kept secrets collide.



The story of Hell is Us has players dive into Hadea, a mysterious fictional country cut off from the world and ravaged by a deadly civil war. Remi, the game's protagonist, was born in Hadea but was smuggled out by his parents when he was a child. Now a peacekeeper sent on a mission to this territory, he sees his return as an opportunity to uncover the secrets of his origins and the reasons that forced his parents to abandon him.

In addition to this quest for the past against the backdrop of civil war is the mystery of a curious phenomenon called 'the Calamity,' which causes strange creatures reminiscent of ancient headstones and monuments in the region to appear, and which Remi will have to face throughout his journey.

Furthermore, a 16-page digital comic covering the events that took place right before the beginning of the game is available, for free.

Hell is Us is a third-person action-adventure game combining melee combat, exploration and a captivating story. Through its Player-Plattering approach incentivizing players to follow their instincts rather than markers, the title aims to return to the roots of adventure games. It encourages reflection and observation by eliminating all forms of intrusive assistance.
