The Blind Warrior - single-player action adventure

The Blind Warrior - single-player action adventure

The Blind Warrior is a story-driven, single-player action-adventure set in a linear, semi-open world. Based on the iconic Indonesian comic ‘Si Buta dari Gua Hantu’, the game takes place in 1860s Java during Dutch colonial rule. Player step into the shoes of Barda Mandrawata—a Silat warrior on a quest for vengeance, who ultimately loses his sight.

If Ghost of Tsushima is about honor, The Blind Warrior is about revenge.

The gameplay unfolds in two distinct phases—before and after Barda goes blind - each offering unique combat mechanics and visual styles. Combat combines light and heavy attacks, dodging, parrying, stealth, assassinations, and cinematic finishers. The game also introduces Blind Sense (a heightened sensory mode akin to Spidey-Sense) and a scanning system to aid in stealth, exploration, and puzzle-solving.

Key Features
  • Two unique gameplay styles and visuals that evolve with the character.
  • Authentic Pencak Silat fighting style, supported by sword and staff-based melee combat.
  • A narrative steeped in Indonesian folklore, set against the backdrop of Dutch-colonial Java in the 1860s.
Visual & Gameplay Inspirations
  • Ghost of Tsushima – War-torn setting, narrative structure, emotional resonance.
  • Black Myth: Wukong – Combat systems and mythological elements.
  • Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice – Inner transformation and immersive audio-visual storytelling.
